Have you ever wondered how your website stacks up against the biggest real estate rock stars in the country? Well, wonder no more. In this updated article, we ranked the real estate agent websites of the top agents 25 (by volume) in the country, as compiled on the Real Trends 500. We also give you the best tools and resources to build or improve your website in 2023.
Our Top Picks for the Best Real Estate Agent Websites for 2023
After weighing our own subjective preferences for layout and design with more objective quality measures like page loading speed and domain authority, we came up with our top picks for the best real estate agent websites for 2023.
Best Layout & Design: Tim Allen Properties
Of all the real estate agent websites we tested, we thought Tim Allen’s had the best overall layout and design. The site is a perfect example of just how crucial choosing the right font is for your website. We might be a little biased though, since we just chose this font for Real Tactics Pro.
Almost every site we looked at had lush drone videos, but the font choices never quite worked as well as this site. Tim Allen’s site perfectly meshes stunning visuals with great typography, which is why it took the top spot again this year.
1st Runner-up: Chris Cortazzo
Since we had a harder time choosing the best layout and design this year, we decided to include not one, but two runners-up in this category. The layout, fonts, and imagery on Chris Cortazzo’s site not only mesh perfectly with one another, but it’s hard to imagine any other choices working as well for the luxury Malibu homes Chris sells.
The art deco font choice for his brand was the icing on the cake. Too many real estate websites are using the same old serif font that everyone else seems to have picked a few years ago. It’s refreshing to see bolder choices like this. We expect to see more web designers using art deco fonts this year. Or we hope they do, at least!
2nd Runner-up: Jade Mills
Jade’s site has the same flawless layout and design as Chris Cortazzo and Tim Allen’s, but with a slightly different aesthetic. Both scream luxury, but in different ways. Like Chris Cortazzo’s site, this one also uses an elegant art deco font to great effect.
Which one do you think is better? Let us know in the comments.
Best Personal Branding Website: Darlene Streit
While personal branding is not technically part of website design, the imagery an agent chooses to represent themselves and their personal brand play a significant role in great web design. While most sites went with lush drone videos of beaches and mansions, Darlene Streit chose to use professionally shot videos of herself chatting with a client and walking in a neighborhood she works in. Agents are selling their personal brand, not houses—a crucial difference many Realtors choose to ignore.
Fastest Loading Time (Mobile & Desktop): Tracy Campion
While there were some stylistic choices on Tracy Campion’s website we would have made differently, her site was the fastest loading website by far, scoring an almost perfect 91 out of 100 on Google’s PageSpeed Insights tool on desktop, and a solid 65 on mobile.
Why This Matters
After Google’s Page Experience Algorithm Update rolled out in August 2021, loading times on desktop and especially mobile have become crucial ranking factors for Google. You can learn more about this update and how important it is for your website here: Understanding page experience in Google Search results
Bonus: Create Your Own (Affordable) Beautifully Designed Real Estate Agent Website
Here’s the truth: Competition for leads online will only get fiercer in 2023. That means you need a great-looking real estate website if you want to have the slightest chance of dominating your farm area this year.
Luckily, you don’t need to spend a ton of money to get one. AgentFire starts you off with gorgeous designs and lets you build a customized tech stack so you never pay for features you don’t need. When you’re ready to upgrade, you can pick and choose only the features you need to scale your business—home valuation landing pages, a blog, logo design, click maps, and more.
Sure, there are lots of other web designers to choose from, but with more than 500 verified 5-star reviews and an average rating of 4.9 on Facebook and Google, it seems most Realtors who choose AgentFire never look back.
Real Trends + Our Rankings (From Highest to Lowest Sales Volume)
1. Ben Caballero: 4.1 (out of 5)
Ben Cabellero’s homeusa.com website is clean, attractive, and gets the job done. Since this site is likely targeting developers just as much as it’s targeting homebuyers, it does feel a bit more corporate than other brokerage sites. Slow loading times on both mobile and desktop brought the overall score down.

2. Christian Angle: 4.4 (out of 5)
Since he’s a luxury broker, Christian Angle’s website was a little more polished and attractive than homeusa.com. It also loaded faster and had search features more prominently displayed on the home page. The “call us” and “inquire” buttons at the bottom of the mobile view were a nice touch.

4. Ralph Harvey: 4.3 (out of 5)
Ralph Harvey’s website is dedicated entirely to getting listings, so it doesn’t have any of the usual bells and whistles that other agent’s sites have. It won’t win any design awards, but it gets the job done well enough to propel Harvey into the fourth spot for agents by volume.

5. Andrew Ernemann: 4.6 (out of 5)
Unlike many of the real estate agent websites of the Real Trends Top 25, Aspen luxury broker Andrew Ernemann’s website also loaded fast on desktop. The mobile loading time could improve, but it was still better than most other sites on the list.

6. Dora Puig: 4.6 (out of 5)
If we had a most improved category, Dora Puig’s new site would get the gold medal. Her site from last year was, how to put this… not great. We ended up scoring it a 3.5, the lowest score we’ve ever given on this list. Her new website is light years better, though. Her personal brand really shines through here—with her pink brand color featured prominently on the site. It’s not perfect, but in another galaxy of quality compared to her old site.
Did our review inspire this redesign? We’ll never know. But we’re thrilled that the internet has one more stylish website.

7. Deborah Kern: 4.5 (out of 5)
Surprisingly, or maybe not surprisingly considering the price point she works in, Manhattan agent Deborah Kern doesn’t have her own website. Instead we reviewed her profile page on Corcoran’s website. The layout is minimal, tasteful, and has ample white space, which makes it much easier to read and scan. It’s not exactly groundbreaking graphic design, but it gets the job done on the cheap and fits Corcoran’s brand well.

8. Suzanne Frisbie: 4.7 (out of 5)
Susan Frisbie’s site was also nice—if a little bit generic. That said, there were some more creative layout choices and slightly more up-to-date branding, which we liked. The site also loaded very fast on both desktop and mobile, which is crucial for ranking on Google.

9. Tracy Campion: 4.7 (out of 5)
While we love the vintage elements of Tracy’s branding that made their way into her website’s design, it did feel slightly cluttered and not quite as put together as some of the other sites on the list. For example, the logo is a little bit blurry, and the mobile layout seemed to compress the logo horizontally on our Android test device. That said, the site loads very fast on desktop.

10. Jonathan Minerick: 4.5 (out of 5)
It’s hard to even imagine stuffing more early aughts web design clichés into one website. Cheesy stock photos, awkward layout, too many fonts … pretty much everything a mediocre web designer with a goatee would have sent you in 2003. But, this site, yes, this site, somehow managed to help get Jonathan Minerick almost half a billion dollars in volume last year. In San Diego. More proof that, if you have the right skills and track record, your website can look like this and still print money.

11. The Agency: 4.5 (out of 5)
Since Santiago Arana doesn’t have his own website, we ranked The Agency’s site instead. We were thrilled to see The Agency give their tired-looking website a refresh this year. Most of the cheesy design elements are gone, and in their place is a sleek, attractive site that actually lives up to their status in Los Angeles real estate.

12. David Roberts: 4.6 (out of 5)
David Roberts’ website is another excellent example of the power of flaunting a personal brand. Instead of the usual images of mansions and beaches, David Chose a picture of himself grinning from ear to ear in a vintage Corvette. There are two simple reasons why this is a clever idea. First, rich people love vintage cars too, and they are more likely to hire someone who they share a passion with. Second, it shows off David’s personality in a way that a standard real estate headshot can never do.

13. Dana Koch: 4.6 (out of 5)
Dana Koch is a new breed (or old breed?) of agent who does not have a website. Instead, we decided to grade Corcoran’s website. As you might expect from a luxury brokerage that cut its teeth in 1980s Manhattan, it’s pretty nice. Surprisingly though, Corcoran’s site was slow to load on both desktop and mobile.

14. Beau Blankenship: 4.7 (out of 5)
Former NFL player Beau Blankenship’s website is also clean and minimal, but somehow the parts don’t gel together as a whole. His logo is a little bit pixelated, the team’s headshots are over Photoshopped and even a bit blurry, and the images are all a little too big. It also had the slowest loading time on mobile, which brought the score down further.

15. Steven Koleno: 4.2 (out of 5)
While it’s always refreshing to see creative design choices, we thought Steve Koleno’s site was a perfect example of trying just a bit too hard to be different. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, but the small video in the lower left corner feels too forced and salesly. It also obscures the navigation on mobile, which hurts usability. We totally get why he did it; we just wish it was done more skillfully.

16. Gary Pohrer: 4.6 (out of 5)
We have to admit to being a little shocked when we first saw Gary Pohrer’s website. No videos, no images of gorgeous beaches or eight figure mansions, just “The Pohrer Report” in a bold serif font. Then we started to realize that it was a clever power move. Gary’s value as an agent is not about branding, but deep market analysis. This is the Warren Buffett of real estate websites.

17. Ginger Glass: 4.6 (out of 5)
Ginger Glass’ website was also nice, but we found the font choices for the site a bit questionable. Personal preference! For example, we don’t think this particular font was meant to be used in all caps and it shows. It’s a bit difficult to read. The site did load fairly quickly on desktop but was a bit slower on mobile.

18. Jean Merkelbach: 4.3 (out of 5)
The layout of Jean Merkelbach’s website was a little too cramped to score well. For example, the logo in the upper left corner is almost touching the red line that separates it from the rest of the site. We loved the way the images turned from black and white to color when you hover your mouse over them, but overall we thought this was a functional but clumsy layout.

19. George Kypreos: 4.1 (out of 5)
We thought George Kypreos’ site was nice, but the layout and design choices felt a little bit dated. There are too many different fonts and font weights being used on the page, which makes it difficult to read. Your eye doesn’t know where to look. The UX elements—the buttons and icons used to navigate the site and the loading animation—also felt a little dated.

20. Tim Allen: 5.0 (out of 5)
Tim Allen’s site, our pick for the best layout and design for the second year in a row, is an excellent example of just how big a difference choosing the right font can make for a website. The drone videos on the slider are lovely too, but pretty much all the websites on our list had beautiful imagery. It’s not easy, but taking the time to work with your designer to choose the right font is crucial for a great website.

21. Michael G Lawler: 4.8 (out of 5)
Michael G Lawler’s website is a perfect example of blending bold and creative design choices with an elegant layout and thoughtful UX design. From the Hollywood-quality videos of jaw-dropping sunsets and beaches to the truly unique font choices, this site is the platonic ideal of what a real estate website should be. Loading times on desktop and mobile are an issue here, but one that can be fixed easily.

22. Dennis Chernov: 4.6 (out of 5)
The layout and design choices on Dennis Chernov’s site seem to fit the Agency’s brand well. However we thought that the animated rollovers in the featured properties section, the overuse of gradients, and the lack of a grid layout distracted a bit from the focus of a team site, which should be the properties and agents. Working with primary red as a brand color is challenging though, so we get why they made some of these choices.

23. Tracy McLaughlin: 4.7 (out of 5)
We really loved how Tracy McLaughin chose to include videos of her panel discussion at Inman along with the typical images of lush properties every other agent on the list uses. After all, buyers who visit this site already know how beautiful mansions are. They are trying to decide who they want to spend time with to buy one. This strategy puts her personal brand front and center.

24. Laura Barry: 4.7 (out of 5)
Laura Barry’s website is highly functional, but could use a refresh. The top navigation bar is in an awkward position on the page, and the black and green color scheme feels very dated. It’s also missing a property grid and other layout elements that most of the other sites we reviewed have. Her logo has a certain 1990s Vogue magazine glamor about it, which we loved. We just wish the rest of the site matched the quality of the logo.

25. Darlene Streit: 4.7 (out of 5)
We loved how Darlene Street used professionally shot video of her walking down the street in her farm area and working with what appears to be a client. Like Tracy McLaughlin, she put her personal brand front and center—giving it equal weight to the videos of mansions and beaches so many other agents use. The videos are also endearing. She’s not crossing her arms and staring like other agents. She is smiling and giving her site visitors a glimpse of what it might actually be like to meet her.

Methodology: How We Ranked the Best Real Estate Agent Websites
Using a mixture of objective measurements (such as domain authority and Google PageSpeed Insights) combined with subjective measurements (our assessment of design and layout), we came up with Real Tactics Pro Score, our method of ranking real estate websites.
Here is a quick breakdown of what our measurements mean and why you should pay attention to them when building your website:
Layout & Design Score (0-5)
This is our subjective scoring on a scale of 0 through 5 of the quality of the layout and design of each website. The quality of your layout and design can make or break your website.
CMS
Which content management system is the website using? A CMS is a website editor, like WordPress or Placester, that allows agents to create and edit websites without learning any code.

Desktop Page Speed (0-100)
While mobile is slowly becoming the most popular platform for viewing websites, National Association of Realtors (NAR) statistics show that 75% of baby boomers still visit real estate websites on desktop. We used Google PageSpeed Insights to measure desktop page speed for each website.

Mobile Page Speed (0-100)
How fast your website loads on mobile devices is a crucial factor in ranking on Google and ensuring site visitors don’t abandon your site for a faster one, like Zillow. We used Google PageSpeed Insights to measure how fast each home page loaded on an Android phone.
